      1. Regardless of who we actually want to win the primary, it's best to encourage the other candidates to stay in the race, too, so the other side's oppo research remains fragmented and unfocused due to lack of a frontrunner to pick on.

      The GOP was able to get such an early start cranking up their smear machine against Hillary because it was obvious she was the frontrunner for so long. If we'd played our cards closer to the chest, we could've tricked them into wasting all their smears on someone else instead.

    It's good that we have such a wider field this time: with Kamala, Bernie, Cory, Liz, John, Joe, Marianne, Tulsi, Michael, Steve, Beto, Sherrod, Andrew, Julián, Jeff, Eric, Jay, and others all splitting the GOP attention, they'll have no clue who to target the most.
