  1. To clarify: my question to Bill Weld tonight about Justin Amash wasn't so much because I care about his opinion on impeachment, but rather because I wanted to see how he'd react to competition for the libertarian lane in the Republican primary.

Beating Trump in the primary would obviate the need for impeachment, and it's not like Gov. Weld can do anything about whether or not the House impeaches or not anyways, so I was rather disappointed his answer focused on that aspect of my question.

Impeachment also has little to do with civil liberties, which is probably why the moderator reminded the next questioner to stay on-topic.

Being libertarian, OTOH, *does* have to do with civil liberties, so if Gov. Weld had focused more on that commonality between him and Rep. Amash, it would've seemed less like we'd gotten off-topic.

Anyways, Gov. Weld did say at least that he'd heard Rep. Amash might be running for the Libertarian nomination instead of the GOP one, which makes me wonder, why isn't Gov. Weld doing likewise?

I mean, I think I know the answer, but couldn't whatever reason Gov. Weld gives also apply to Rep. Amash's reasoning as to which primary to run in? Why would he assume Rep. Amash would make a different decision than he would?

Anyways, that's my thread on tonight's event; thanks again to @ACLU_NH @GovBillWeld and @UNHLaw for putting it on. #FITN #nhpolitics #Weld2020
