              1. Time to head over to my local Bernie campaign office for their #DemDebate watch party (since it's the closest)... dunno if they'll have anything for me to tweet from there, so my reactions might not come until afterwards...

Ok, I'm back; time to transcribe the notes I took… my #DemDebate reactions thread starts here: - Stream started off w/some technical difficulties; we finally caught up when Elizabeth Warren was answering some question - Ashley Parker had a good question for Steyer re: his wealth

            - Klobuchar had a good line on Stacey Abrams - I was disappointed w/Yang defending Steyer, but Yang did have a good point re: the Office of Technology Assessment - I need to check w/Forbes myself to see if Pete actually is the least wealthy; might bump him up a few slots if he is

          - Klobuchar got laughs for her response on Pete's experience & on Nancy Pelosi beating Trump - Booker sounds like he would continue to tweet as president; he kinda dodged that question though. - Biden had a good answer on letting the DOJ act independently

        - I was surprised Yang was actually willing to separate PFML from UBI... he did eventually bring it back around to it though, it just took longer than I expected - It was good to have a housing discussion; they shoulda brought in more of the candidates on it though

      - Yang got laughs on his response to the Putin call question - I'm kinda interested in his "World Data Organization" idea - Bernie got good reactions on Palestine - Booker's line re: Biden's stance on marijuana was appreciated - Booker sounds like he's only just barely hanging on

Anyways, I'm kinda surprised they didn't go after Pete more... last debate, when they all went after Warren, it worked! She struggled then! But this time around, only Tulsi really challenged Pete; everyone else just kinda let him slide... seems unfair to Warren in comparison.

I guess it's not just the other candidates' decisions to attack or not, but also how the targeted candidates (or deserving-of-targeting candidates) handled the attacks, and, to be honest, Pete kinda handled it better than Warren did last time.

Everything just kinda slid off him, which is why it didn't really seem like he was getting attacked as much, because, except for Tulsi, no one really "got" to him, whereas last debate, you could tell Warren was feeling cornered.

The consensus in the room I was in tonight seemed to be that Pete was "smooth" in how he handled attacks... almost TOO smooth. Other words I heard used to describe him were "smarmy" and "smug" (the letters "sm" were popular ways to start words apparently)

Anyways, since Warren wasn't being targeted as much this time as she was being targeted last time, she seemed a lot freer to just be herself, and gave a better (although more forgettable) performance this time. Klobuchar and Harris kinda upstaged her on the memorability front tho

Yang was a mixed bag; I'm always interested in the new ideas he brings up, but sometimes he goes ways with his rhetoric that I disagree with. Also, I missed Castro's presence on stage; he had way more of a right to be up there than Tulsi.

So yeah, those are my #DemDebate thoughts; time to see what everyone else says now...

Darn it, some of the candidate-name trends related to the #DemocraticDebate started dropping out of the trending topics before I had a chance to click on them... oh well
