  1. People acting all surprised that Chuck D & Flavor Flav finally split up must have never actually compared the politics espoused in their respective songs. Honestly it's more of a surprise that they kept Public Enemy together this long at all.

      like, compare "911 Is A Joke" or "Can't Do Nuttin' for Ya Man" w/the rest of "Fear of a Black Planet". They just don't fit. Chuck D has always been about solidarity among the people, while Flavor Flav has always been an individualistic money-chaser. This break-up was inevitable.

        (ok so fine, you can actually get "911 Is A Joke" to fit in if you do a tortured enough reading of it that makes it about systemic racism instead of healthcare, but that's not the impression it first gives. And you still can't do likewise with CDNFYM)
