  1. People using unions as an example of "special interests" is why I don't like the term "special interests" too much. Everyone is a special interest, the issue is that some special interests have disproportionate power to others, and unions have too little power, not too much: @Feltes4Himself/1293879520748077057

      i.e. instead of saying just "special interests" I prefer to be even more specific and add an extra adjective to make it clear which I'm criticizing: I'd say "big special interests" or "wealthy special interests" or "powerful special interests" instead
