  1. Reminder, you can't grep dead trees, so instead of printing the bill, I'll be downloading it and searching it from my computer instead: @HouseDailyPress/1341100803298308112

There are dollar signs on 1,523 pages out of the 5,593 pages.

If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like this provision will let me buy more foods with my SNAP money:

Instead of specifying each individual program that each payment doesn't count against the resource limit of, it'd be nice to just get a blanket "None of these payments count against any resource limit for any other program" clause, but at least they remembered this one:

Being able to use my SNAP payments online would be a gamechanger for me:

$114B for SNAP is a pretty good amount

Since "SSI" turns up too many hits due to being a substring of many other words, I'm searching for "Supplemental Security Income" instead, and it turns up on 12 pages... not quite sure I understand all provisions relating to it, but at least they remembered it...

"Housing" turns up on 226 pages, and "Housing and Urban Development" turns up on 56... I'm not quite sure how to narrow either of those search terms down further...

These provisions for counseling people on how to avoid eviction would probably be better spent on just giving people housing and not evicting them in the first place, but oh well, at least it's something:

Yeah this clause should be struck from the bill.

This is buried pretty far down in the application process for rental assistance; I'd think that this could probably be simplified by just assuming people are in danger of experiencing homelessness or housing instability in general:

Here we go! Here's the extension of the eviction moratorium. It could probably be pushed back to later than just the end of January, but oh well, at least it's something.

The term "rental assistance" is found on 39 separate pages; narrowing it down to "rental assistance program" brings it down to 18 pages... I'll try doing it as "emergency rental assistance" next

There's the $25B for emergency rental assistance; not sure why this goes under "Banking", but whatever...

"Medicaid" is found on 61 pages, "Medicare" is found on 85... I'm not going to bother trying to narrow either of those down any further

"Internet" is found on 116 pages, "broadband" is found on 71, "telecommunications" is found on 37... not going to bother to narrowing any of these down, either

More money for telemedicine is good; being able to meet with my mental health providers via telemedicine has been helpful during the pandemic

"Mental Health" is found on 120 pages, but that's because Preview dot app's search functionality includes results from when "mental" is a substring of "supplemental"... maybe I should be doing this a different way...
