    1. If legislation were written in a programming language instead of English, it'd probably actually be more readable. A lot of the length of the COVIDbus comes the fact that you can't factor out commonly-repeated subexpressions into functions in English like you can in programming.

    Like, if you have a preprocessor expand all the macros in your code, of course that's going to make it longer. That's basically what happens with legislation. People complain about acronyms, but there's actually substantial room to use them even more to shorten legislation

      If legislation were expected to be read in a digital-native format (instead of having it be printed), you could have all the acronyms display their meanings in hovertext (tooltips), instead of having to write them out longform as they currently are.
