oh gosh one of my fellow committee members has a Rush Limbaugh tie >_<

“I miss him, he was a great guy,” one of them says… eugh, yuck.

ok we’re getting started for real now… one of the drawbacks of doing this hybrid is that I can’t see who’s actually speaking when the speaker is someone from the physical committee room, so I don’t have names for those 2 previous Limbaugh likers, unfortunately.

First up is SB30, which is being rushed; it’s to permit Tilton and Northfield to redraw their boundary lines
        1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
There’s an island in the middle of the Winnipesaukee River that they want to transfer ownership of
      1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
See this island that says “Tilton Island Park” and is only accessible by the Tilton Island Park Bridge? It’s actually in Northfield. They want to fix that. Seems reasonable to me. #NHPolitics
oh my god twitter doesn’t include alt text from images in their API

I wish we’d had a hydrologist among the witnesses to tell us if that channel is going to become an oxbow any time soon, but we didn’t, so, oh well, I’ll just have to assume that it won’t.

    Motion passes OTP unanimously, 19-0.
    1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
Next up WOULD be HB189, but we already heard that last time, and @ivyvann motioned to withdraw it, so we voted to do so unanimously, so there’s no need to hear it again.
      1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
Hearing on HB262 will be at 10, so we’re going to try to fit in some executive session on some other bills in before then.
        1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
exec-ing HB64 now; it’s this one from last time: @cooljeanius/1359162309399220227?s=20

HB64 OTPs unanimously, 19-0; it goes on the consent calendar
            1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
wait dang we’re already voting to retain HB132; I meant to raise an objection… we voted 18-1 to retain it; I was the “1” because I thought we should just pass it now instead (this was the minimum lot size bill).
              1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
now we’re exec-ing HB154; it was this one from last time: @cooljeanius/1359189952815386625?s=20

break time for like 15 minutes before we come back to hear the next bill

for some reason Rep. Piemonte wants to reconsider HB183 (the stupid lemonade stand bill) which we already voted ITL last time; I don’t get why we’re doing this.
                      1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
Motion to reconsider passes along party lines; this is stupid
                        1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
Basically the only thing that changed is the Republicans have an extra member in attendance today

oh good grief Rep. Lascelles says he’s changing his vote because he had a dream about lemonade; this is ridiculous

a more likely explanation is that he was just experiencing pressure from other Republicans

motion to OTP passes 10-9 along party lines; I hate this

time to hear HB262 now; @joshyokela is introducing it. It requires municipalities to state the enabling statute for any new bylaws/ordinances they enact.

this seems like overreach to me

Cordell Johnston of the NHMA is back today, this time to testify against HB262. I agree with his testimony.

most of the other reps are already asking questions that correspond to my own thoughts on this bill; I don’t really need to do much here
                                        1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
ok hearing on that bill is over; onto HB284. Rep. McBeath was supposed to introduce it but she’s not here… It extends the deadline for requests for restoration of lots that were involuntarily merged.

Cordell Johnston of the NHMA is still here and he is testifying against HB284; apparently this deadline was already extended once previously.

onto executive session for CACR9, the tax cap amendment. I’ll be voting against it.

Some controversy over a Rep who wasn’t at his Zoom camera but managed to vote on this motion anyways…

the CACR passes along party lines after reconsidering 10-9… oh well, at least we tried…

I’m realizing I forgot to take down who testified about the Tilton/Northfield bill at the start; if someone could remind me their names, I’d appreciate it

ok we’re done now… blech, that sucked. I hope my constituents appreciate the shenanigans from my GOP colleagues that I have to put up with.

we’re doing a motion to reconsider since that Rep’s vote is in question
