ok time to find out how bad "The Rise of Skywalker" actually is (don't worry, I didn't actually pay money for it; it's from the library)
-
look, I know the old EU revived Palpatine, too, but... they really should have just let him stay dead
-
I'm sorry, but putting hyperdrives on TIE Fighters is just wrong
-
good grief
-
Rey is so overpowered
-
WHAT
-
twists just for the sake of twists
-
since I somehow managed not to have this particular twist spoiled for me all this time, I'll keep quiet about it
-
yeah I preferred the way TLJ was going to take things where Rey's parents would have been unimportant
-
When Rey says, "People keep telling me they know me; I'm afraid no one does," it feels kinda like a diss at her writers/directors
-
Writers read too much TVTropes; I would have been perfectly fine never hearing any updates on the story behind the title of this trope: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NoEndorHolocaust
-
Force abilities in general have become too overpowered; I blame TLJ for introducing these darn Force projection shenanigans (this is part of why I liked Rogue One, btw, because the Force was basically just a religion in that one)
-
oh, so THAT'S how they handled Carrie Fisher's death...
-
oh ok nvm I guess he wasn't even a projection this time, he was just really quick at getting there somehow
-
how many times are they going to make a big deal about Rey picking up or exchanging a lightsaber in this movie?
-
Not really liking how the First Order has become multi-racial; part of the whole "space Nazis" thing is that they're supposed to be racist.
-
I gotta admit the whole "landing cavalry animals on a Star Destroyer" thing is pretty cool though
-
yeah Force abilities have become overpowered
-
While I'm glad they added a new black female character, why did they have to pair her with Finn? The whole "black guy has to date member of his same race" thing seems kinda regressive; let us ship Finn x Rey instead of shoving Reylo down our throats
-
it was pretty cool seeing Lando save them from that crashing Star Destroyer though
-
ugh, Reylo is such a bad ship; I can't stand it... so forced
-
Huh, for some reason the discourse surrounding this movie had led me to believe that Finn died in this, but, I guess not? I mean, I'm glad he didn't, but... well, that whole "last words" controversy seems even stupider now that I know they weren't even his last words...
-
ok well whatever, anyways I'm done checking that box off now. It wasn't THAT bad, as at least there were a few cool action moments in it, and the dialogue wasn't as bad as in the prequels, but still... I'm just getting so tired of this series. It's time for it to die already.
