                      1. So I am at the LOB for my first in-person committee hearing; should be pretty short as we only have 3 retained bills to go over. I’ll be starting my livetweet thread for it from here. #NHPolitics

Also it’s pretty hot in here; I’m wondering why the HVAC upgrades didn’t include air conditioning? Or if they did, why it isn’t being used?

(that’s 132, 431, and 445, for people who don’t want to click thru… the minimum lot size bill, the Danville dogcatcher bill, and the Carroll County competitive bidding bill)

Some change in the makeup of the cmte today; @nhrepPorter has moved over to Education, meaning that Jim Maggiore is now our ranking member. @rosemarierung has joined our committee, Jennie Gomarlo is subbing for Trish Klee, & Linda Harriott-Gathright will be subbing for @ivyvann

we’re wondering what @joshyokela’s plans for HB132 are; been hearing mixed messages about it

Looks like there are some changes among the Republican side, too? Then again I don’t really know them as well, so I can’t say for sure…

we’re supposed to engage as “professional colleagues” here without receiving professional pay levels for it… go figure.

no microphones at today’s hearing, either

Rep. Maggiore gets a chance for a short speech criticizing the Speaker’s decision to end the practice of having hybrid committee sessions; shame barely anyone is here to hear it…

Starting off with HB445, on competitive bidding for Carroll County. There’s already a motion to ITL it.

It’s really hard to hear in here due to the increased space in the room, the lack of microphones, and the new HVAC system. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we have the new HVAC system for health purposes, but it *is* rather noisy…

            HB445 is ITL-ed unanimously

next up is HB431, the Danville “Animal Control Officer” (i.e. dogcatcher) bill, which is basically a personal dispute being fought at the legislative level. Motion to put it to interim study being considered currently.

Chairman is allowing Rep. Scott Wallace of Danville (from the audience) to testify as to what the interim study committee would look at in this case

I can’t find an outlet and I didn’t bring my charging brick, so I’ll be switching devices now…

motion for interim study fails 10-9 with all Democrats and 1 Republican (Rep. Guthrie) voting against it

...and then the motion to ITL passes unanimously; apparently the people who wanted the interim study just wanted to be nice about ITL-ing it

discussing HB132, on minimum lot sizes, now

the vote to put HB132 to interim study passes unanimously, which is kind of surprising given the amount of discussion on it
