I'm substituting in on a Legislative Administration Committee hearing today for an absence; will be livetweeting starting here. #NHPolitics
-
Moment of silence for Doug Ley; R.I.P.
-
The person I’m substituting for is Rep. Richards, apparently.
-
Schedule is getting changed on us, but I don’t have a schedule in front of me anyways, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
First up is HB558, a study committee on technology for the legislative process: legiscan.com/NH/bill/HB558/2021
-
Wait this is actually right up my alley
-
This is technically supposed to be an executive session, but we’re still getting a chance to hear testimony from people like @nhhouseclerk anyways
-
Terry Pfaff is testifying now on the IT work that he’s been doing
-
Disappointed to hear how much proprietary software our government relies on; we need to moving to free-and-open-source stuff instead as much as possible. #NHPolitics
-
I didn’t read the letter aloud after all; it seemed more focused on remote access specifically, while this bill was a more general study committee. Anyways Republicans ITL-ed the bill on party lines; remember that the GOP aren’t interested in being forward-thinking on tech at all
-
considering some bills related to emergency powers now
-
I'm so glad @tjsnh is on this committee to keep everyone in order.
-
...and we unanimously ITL-ed all the emergency-order-related bills, on the grounds that they're moot at this point. Time to adjourn!
