The way of differentiating between “chilling” in the sense of “cold” and “chilling” in the sense of “hanging out” is just to use an apostrophe, right? i.e., “chilling” with a “g” is the former, and “chillin’” with an apostrophe is the latter? Are there any counterexamples?
