I’m reading the latest House Calendar… doesn’t look like there’s been much talk yet of Sununu’s vetoes from earlier this year, so time for a little thread on them…
-
Sununu vetoed HB98, which would change the state’s primary date (for state offices, *not* the presidential one). I could kinda see both sides to this one, so eh, whatever… I can’t even remember which way I voted on it; lemme look it up…
-
wait Sununu’s veto message said HB98 changed the date to August, but my log said the bill would have changed it to June? Did it get changed in the Senate or something? @cooljeanius/1380220268661112837

oh wait that was when it first came before us in April, maybe by the time it came back to us in June, that’s why we had to vote on it again, because they’d changed it: @cooljeanius/1408130341160763394

Sununu also vetoed HB239, relative to prosecutions for certain assaults against minors. I don’t appear to have tweeted about this one previously, so maybe it went by on the consent calendar previously?
-
Sununu also vetoed HB242, relative to the content of an adequate education. I regret not including more details about it the last time I tweeted about it, because now I forget what exactly the deal with it was: @cooljeanius/1364973357603713028

Ha, Sununu vetoed the “guns on snowmobiles” bill! (that’s HB334 for reference) It looks like it was due to the tacked-on portions about background checks… whatever, that was a bad bill either way, so I’m glad to see he vetoed it (even if his reasoning was rather wishy-washy)

(ok that’s it; back to the original reason I was checking the House Calendar, to see when hearings are scheduled…)
