            1. I think the way I would have handled this question instead if I were Biden would be to point out how approval rates can be based on a wide variety of factors, some of which can conflict with one another: @Yamiche/1483931519131475970

There are probably some who disapprove of Biden because he hasn’t gotten BBB passed yet, while others disapprove of him for even trying to pass BBB at all. You can’t satisfy both crowds.

Also, saying “I disapprove of the job Biden is doing” isn’t necessarily the same thing as saying, “I’m going to go out and vote for his opponents.” I think pointing out these things would have been more constructive than giving the quote at the top of the thread.

Actually let's do a #TwitterPoll of it (unscientific, of course, due to self-selection bias) with my preferred wording... (it'll have to go in a separate tweet)

Which of these do you most agree with? 1. Biden has been achieving his goals, and that's good 2. Biden has been achieving his goals, and that's bad 3. Biden has been failing to achieve his goals, and that's good 4. Biden has been failing to achieve his goals, and that's bad

#PollResults: Only 10 people voted, but a majority of them voted for the "He's been failing to achieve his goals, and it's bad that he's failing" option. Perfect example of how it's possible to disapprove of the job he's doing while still being on his side.
