Diane Pauer is introducing HB1375 to us since @T_RoyNHStateRep isn't here; it's about the definition of "veteran" (specifically about discharge under honorable/dishonorable conditions)

apparently there's a difference between "general discharge under honorable conditions" and "honorable discharge" (law is so confusing)

basically it's just a bill to adjust some numbers for inflation, and to remove a 90-day service requirement for qualification for the credit

Jim Michaud is back to be neutral on this bill, as well... just giving some numbers...

I think I'd support a version of this bill that just does the inflation tweaks for the "may" portion and drops both the changes to the "shall" portion and the removal of the 90 days requirement

next is HB1057, about the tax exemption for the elderly. It's similar to HB1056, except it's for the elderly instead of veterans. Rep. Deshaies is introducing this one, as well.

I'm leaning to oppose this one; we have enough old people in the state already and don't need to be encouraging more to move here

Next is HB1342, about municipal tax caps. It's basically to clean up after the mess left behind by last year's bill on municipal tax caps. Rep. @SuzanneVailNH is introducing it to us.

excuse me, it's not just tax caps, but spending caps, too. Last year the bill that made the mess of it was SB52: @cooljeanius/1394279909753769985

The bill's prime sponsor, @Ross_Berry, isn't here, so Rep. Pauer introduced it instead (I've missed the hearing for a bill that I was supposed to introduce, too, so I'm not holding this against him... scheduling can be difficult, and hearing notices can get lost in email)

Ok back from lunch; Norm Silber is here to introduce the extremely unpopular HB1078 to us (i.e. the @Gunstockmtn bill). We got a petition with 1200 signatures on it opposing it in the email this morning. It wants to have Belknap County take over the Gunstock Area Commission.
