So, I agreed to substitute for @LaborPrez on his House Fish & Game Committee hearing today; it’s only one bill, so hopefully this thread for it will be rather short today… #NHPolitics
-
Bill we'll be hearing today: SB260, about search & rescue teams. It's got a bipartisan sponsor list: @SenHennessey, @PrentissSuzanne, @BeckyWhitleyNH, Karen Umberger, and @OmgEgan: legiscan.com/NH/bill/SB260/2022
-
wait I think Rep. Umberger might be @Karenumbergerg1
-
(in which case I probably should have tagged her in last week's thread, too, since she testified about the short-term rentals bill)
-
A bunch of subs today; Sen Hennessey isn't here, so @grantbosse is introducing SB260 to us instead.
-
Alan Clark of Sugar Hill supports SB260, he was the one who asked Sen. Hennessey to file this bill
-
this kinda reminds me of my pet rescue bill
-
Colonel Kevin Jordan of the Fish & Game department says they voted to support this bill; basically it makes F&G rescuers provide first aid more easily
-
ok so that's it for the hearing; time to exec it
-
ok so the bill OTPs 15-0; goes on the consent calendar
-
This was the Col. Kevin Jordan who testified btw: @SenatorShaheen/997983500581199872
-
committee is having interim study session a bit later at 10:30; I wasn't asked to sub for that part, so I dunno if I'll stay...
-
bill 1 scheduled for the interim study session, HB1091: legiscan.com/NH/bill/HB1091/2022
-
bill 2 scheduled for the interim study session, HB1201: legiscan.com/NH/bill/HB1201/2022
-
ok interim study time
-
HB1091 seems like a bad idea; nobody likes it much. Wording needs work.
-
HB1091 is moved to be not recommended for future legislation, 16-0. Onto the bear damage bill.
-
HB1201 would be modifying law that hasn't even had time to take effect yet, so we probably are just going to wait before doing anything further with it
-
ok so HB1201 is also Not Recommended For Future Legislation, 16-0; Fish & Game Committee is now done for the year.
-
time to head out...
