ok so the hearing for HB1186 went relatively painlessly

oh gosh this testifier on HB1299 brought in an easel with a foldback packet of poster paper for his testimony; I thought we weren't allowed to have props here... (I'd totally be stealing @katieporteroc's whiteboard idea if we were!)

we're onto the lobster bill now; there were quite a few testifiers signed up to speak on this one...

voting on the lobster bill results in a 2-2 tie... and the squirrel bill was recessed, apparently? I'm going to stick around just in case...

ok so it looks like the hearing has ended without getting to the squirrel bill; oh well... time to get lunch before some House-side things...

over to a House Environment & Natural Resources Subcommittee work session on SB367, a recycling bill... seems like it could be relevant to my own recycling bill! (currently in interim study)

Someone from... I think it was @AmerChemSociety is here to answer questions for the subcommittee

this is kind of a complicated bill; not exactly something that someone subbing can really pick up and participate on easily...

bill reads like a page from a spelling bee study list; words include: pyrolysis, gasification, depolymerization, solvolysis, monomers, oligomers, and... hm, are some of these other "-olysis" words typos?
          1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
other guy (Chris... or Charles? Last name Cookson) joining the ACS person is from... I think it was @SustainPlastics but they seem to be British? Or maybe it was @APRrecycles or something...
        1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
ok so yeah this amendment seems to have fixes for some of the "-olysis" typoes I noticed: correct spellings are "ammonolysis" and "glycolysis" ("hydrolysis", "amylolysis", and "methanolysis" were already correct)

"I'm more of a social studies / language arts person; I don't need to take any additional chemistry classes!" I told myself in high school and college... Well, now I'm kinda regretting that...

ok so it looks like I didn't actually have anything to contribute for this subcommittee work session on this recycling bill; staying in-place for another separate ENR hearing in the same room...

next, the full House Environment & Agriculture Committee hearing SB368, a bill on 2 separate issues: unlicensed pet sales, and an agricultural hearings officer revolving fund.

Stacey Ober (I think her handle is @OberSober; she helped with my pet rescue bill) of the @akcdoglovers is testifying to the pet-related portion of SB386; it basically just adjusts the penalty amount

oh wait it's 368, not 386... anyways, moving straight from the hearing to the work session on the bill...

why do other committees have work sessions, but mine never does? We only ever have hearings and executive sessions, but no work sessions, on Municipal & County Government... (not that I'm necessarily complaining, mind you)

sounds like there's a non-germane amendment hearing in the works for this bill
