  1. It’s a shame, because we do actually need legislation to deal with TikTok and other apps like it, but that legislation should be privacy legislation like an American version of Europe’s GDPR, rather than censorship legislation like the RESTRICT Act: @glukianoff/1643252192101408768

      Seize TikTok’s source code, release it under a copyleft software license, ensure that building it is reproducible, let users submit pull requests to remove the bad aspects of it, but don’t ban it.
