Starting off with SB88, which I missed the hearing for due to being late. Rep. Yokela is moving to ITL it.

He also has an amendment for the bill, but says he's just going straight to ITL because he thought the amendment wouldn't pass.

ITL motion on SB88 fails 7-13; now it's time for Rep. Yokela's amendment

(I think the GOP reps joining the Dems on that were Guthrie, MacDonald, and Cahill)

Amendment is adopted 11-9; Guthrie, MacDonald, and Cahill were GOP "no" votes, while Treleaven, Hicks, Reed, and I were Dem "yes" votes

SB88 as a whole passes OTP/A unanimously 20-0; goes on the consent calendar

oh yeah I forgot to specify the subs for today: @LauraTelerski is subbing for @LathaMangipudi and @Ellen4NH is subbing for Al Howland

Rep. Pauer's amendment seems like a it's just a language cleanup
    1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
amendment is adopted 18-1 (Rep. Yokela was the 1, and Rep. Lascelles stepped out, so that's why it doesn't add up to 20)
      1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
SB111 passes OTP/A as a whole by the same margin; goes on the consent calendar

amendment removes a few portions of the original bill
              1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
Vote on amdmt to SB110 is a tie along party lines, 10-10, so it fails to be adopted; onto the underlying bill
                1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
OTP on SB110 also ends in a 10-10 tie; next Rep. Pauer tries a motion to retain
                  1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
retain motion on SB110 fails 11-9, with Rep. Yokela joining the Dems, so the bill will be sent before the full House without recommendation
                    1. …in reply to @cooljeanius
Next is SB222; Rep. Turcotte has an amendment for this one as well

someone's going to need to explain Starlink to Rep. Pauer later, lol (it's not really germane to the current discussion though)

Rep. Turcotte thinks having broadband will increase real estate prices, which will make the housing crisis worse, which... lolno; I don't think that's how this works. Anyways SB222 passes OTP 18-2, with Reps Yokela and Turcotte as the 2 "no" votes; taking a 15-minute break now.

Rep. Turcotte's amendment changes the Reps/Senators ratio, changes the date for the report deadline, and does some other tweaks.

amendment removes conservation commission input and regional planning commission input; this is our (cmte Dems) reason for opposing the amendment

vote on amdmt ties 10-10, so it fails to be adopted. Onto the OTP motion on the underlying bill (SB47)

actually we're going to to recess SB47 to a later date so there can be a better amendment that keeps the conservation committee; looks like we're going to be recessing SB132 (the anti-sanctuary bill) to a later date, too...
