New Hampshire House is in session today; the budget's been getting a lot of attention lately, but I'm not actually seeing it on our schedule for today? There're still plenty of other bills for today, tho, including SB132, the antisanctuary bill. Livetweeting as usual. #NHPolitics

McDonnell is also speaking against this bill... some of these points are kind of fair, but I'm not hearing anything about #SoftwareFreedom being mentioned... wishing this bill had been on my radar sooner so I could've had time to analyze it more closely...

                                                                    1. …in reply to @cooljeanius

SB149 is meant to end nurses double-booking themselves... I wouldn't go so far as to call the practice "extortion", because by that logic, a bunch of other labor tactics (such as striking, etc.) would also be "extortion", but I'll at least agree that it's rather dishonest...

yeah this was kind of a tough one, because on the one hand, I want to take the side of labor whenever there's a labor/management dispute, but OTOH, I also want to see government-run enterprises such as county nursing homes succeed, so... well, I ended up voting for it.

Now up: SB172. Rep. Lynn is trying to attach the text of HB117 to it via an amendment, which apparently failed on the other side of the wall, and would end the "good-cause" requirement for evictions. It's a bad amendment; having a "good-cause" requirement is good.

We should be treating housing as a human right instead of as a profit-making opportunity for landlords. Evictions make people lose housing; GOP trying to portray evictions as pro-housing is absurd.

The way we fix our housing crisis is by building more housing, not by evicting tenants to make more room.

Good to hear Rep. Maggiore is correcting his previous vote in favor of ending the "good-cause" requirement for evictions!

Senate changes to HB2 are concurred to 326-53... which, yeah, is cool, but I don't really think is worth applauding ourselves over; acting self-congratulatory like that is a bad look
