While I haven't heard claims that Madison was actually a Thomist, I *have* heard claims that Locke was actually more influenced by the scholastics than he let on, and Madison was influenced by Locke, so maybe he got it by way of him...On twitter.com

@RealBenisons @joshtpm My next instinct was to look up whether St. Thomas was a Jesuit or not, as they're the only holy order I'm aware of being considered by conservatives to be "woke", but upon looking it up, it turns out he was actually a Dominican, & idk the conservative opinion of the Dominicans…Permalink On twitter.com
