I have previously identified as a YIMBY, but some of the replies and QTs to this have me reconsidering if I want to continue to do so. You should be able to call for increased building of more housing supply without glorifying corporate landlords. @JeffMerkley/1693743137070747723

I do think a better way of framing it would be "Would you want to live in housing owned by a Wall Street hedge fund, or own it yourself?" rather than using the NIMBY framing of what sort of neighbors you want, though.

Renters have interests in being housed, we generally do NOT have interests in continuing to be renters for the rest of our lives, though. Most of us would prefer it if we could be homeowners, but we can't be if corporations own all the housing.

personally my preferred housing arrangement would be a large apartment complex like my current 1, except one that I co-own as part of a tenants'-union-turned-housing-cooperative, but that decision might not be fully up to me, as my fiancée would prefer to own a single-family home
